Working closely with Forest City Ratner, Yonkers City officials, The Hardy Architectural Collaborative (H3) as Project Design Architects, as well as other members of the top-notch design team, Studio 5 planned and developed 1.3 million square feet of retail with a required 7,000 parking spaces – 5,000 of which are located in five parking garages strategically spaced at intervals throughout the site. The site design promotes a village green atmosphere with a contemporary feel through the use of a variety of materials to add texture and liveliness to the streetscape and public areas.
Designed to be extravagant and exciting yet entertaining and comfortable, Ridge Hill has a 12-screen multiplex cinema from National Amusements, a Tom Otterness-designed play sculpture for children and a water, light and fire show designed by Wet Design straight out of Las Vegas. Some key tenants on site include Whole Foods Market, Lord & Taylor, Sephora, Dicks Sporting Gods, Cheesecake Factory, Yardhouse and L.L. Bean, as well as an additional mix of 100+ local and national retailers and restaurants in total. The project sits on a ridge (hence the name) overlooking the Sprain Brook and New York State Thruway and it’s less than eight minutes from the nearest train station with connections to New York and White Plains.
Ridge Hill has its very own Main Street (Market Street) with two levels of pedestrian access so the up and down of the shops and entertainment keeps the experience moving. Delightful and enticing architecture and amenities, including a private trolley system, add to the anticipation of an exciting shopping experience where everything and anything is within reach.
