Building L
Bergen Mall, Paramus, New Jersey
Studio 5 Partnership was commissioned to provide architectural design and construction documents for a free standing 16,000 SF multi-tenant retail building.
Studio 5 Partnership was given design flexibility to create a design that works on it’s own but blends with the style of the current mall renovation. The broken skyline, receding and projecting facades and the judicious juxtaposition of materials all contribute to the concept of “town center” and to enhance the pedestrian experience.
Responsibilities included the design of the building shell consisting of slab on grade, steel frame structure with a metal stud façade system. In addition Studio 5 Partnership provided the coordination of the Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineers to provide a “Warm, Dark Shell” for future tenant fit-up.
This building is part of Vornado’s overall vision of the Bergen Mall in Paramus/ Maywood NJ, which opened as “Bergen Town Center” in 2009.
