Crossing at Southern
Southern Boulevard and Hunts Point Avenue, Bronx, New York
Studio 5 Partnership was commissioned by The Prusik Group LLC / BDG to provide architectural design and construction documents for a 44,500 sf two story multi-tenant retail building located in the Bronx at the intersection of Southern Boulevard and Hunts Point Avenue.
Responsibilities included the design of the building shell consisting of slab on grade, steel frame structure with a metal panel façade system and a flat roof. In addition Studio 5 Partnership is providing the coordination and direction of the Dewberry (Structural) and Omdex, Inc, (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineers) to provide a “Warm, Dark Shell” for future tenant fit-up. Bohler Engineering provided the site civil engineering.
The two story building will have two major tenants on the second floor and a series of smaller tenants at the ground floor. The second floor tenants, a major restaurant chain and a major dry retail tenant have access from a common lobby at the first floor with elevator and escalator access to the second floor common lobby. The first floor tenants will be a mixture of fast food restaurants and dry retailers. A shared loading dock serves all the tenants.
