Cheers to 20 Years!
Everyone here at Studio 5 is excited to be celebrating two decades of exceptional work! When we look back at our inception in 2005, it’s fun to reminisce how different things were back then…
What was happening in 2005?
At Studio 5, one of our biggest projects Ridge Hill in Yonkers, was in its early stages of design. The all new $685.5 million dollar, 74-acre lifestyle center featured plans to include a Tom Otterness Playground Sculpture in its Town Square (one of only two in the world!). Additionally, The Port Authority Bus Terminal was in the process of implementing our design that reconstructed their saw-tooth gates to accommodate new wheelchair-lift equipped busses.

Also in 2005… MySpace was the leading social network, Wi-Fi was becoming more commonplace, YouTube and Reddit were born and Google launched a searchable map of the world! Cellphones were upgraded to feature 3G technology, the Blackberry was still a hot item, and the iPhone would not be invented for another two years! Autodesk’s Revit software was only one year old and Virtual Reality (VR) would not gain popularity in the Architecture industry for another 10 years!
In NJ, the American Dream complex in the Meadowlands was called “Xanadu”, the median price of a single-family home was $378,992, it was only $5 to cross the George Washington Bridge and you could actually pay cash!
We’ve come a long way!
In 2025, we’ll be commemorating the hard work and partnerships that brought us this far and toast to a bright future led by strong women, inspired by creativity and fostered by Studio 5’s timeless differentiator: Vibrant, innovative designs led by accessible Partners and delivered with affordable excellence. Then, now and always, we continue our relentless pursuit to Design Solutions!
