Cross Creek Pointe

Englewood, New Jersey

In December of 2011 a fire broke out on the deck of one of the units in building 22 at Cross Creek Condominium Association. The fire destroyed the four Northern Units and left the four southern units severely damaged and uninhabitable.

Studio 5 Partnership was called in to create construction documents for restoration of the building.Studio 5 also acted as an advocate for the Association. The insurance companies estimate had been based on repairing only the north side of the building. Studio 5 saw this as impracticable and not in keeping with the requirements of the insurance policy to return the building back to its original condition. Along with their engineers they proved to the insurance adjuster that the northern side should be demolished and replaced with new construction. Building 22 is one of 38 buildings in the Cross Creek Pointe Complex. The goal achieved in this project was to restore the building to the original condition including any new code required elements to blend seamlessly with the other buildings on the site.
